Leeah paced through the halls, finally deciding to enter the gym. She wasn't yet ready to return to her boring dorm yet. Besides, she needed some exercise now and again. She looked down at her mud splattered jeans and then at her ratty t-shirt. She shrugged and trotted over to the storage room. She whipped out a basketball and dribbled it across the court. She shot perfectly, hearing the swish of the ball as it ringed through the hoop. Basketball was definately her favorite, and best sport. Leeah smiled and ran to snatch up the basketball.
I know this random guy looks older, but this is sorta what Alex looks like.

Alex walked casually into the gym, his hands in his pokets. He smiled when he saw a girl shooting hoops. Looks like someone sharred his interest. He leaned up against the wall, watching her make every basket she shot. She strolled over to the equipment room and grabbed a basketball for himself. He shot from half court, the ball swirling through the air. It didn't go as far as he planned though. The basketball swooped downward, hitting the strange girl in the back of her head. Her hand flew to her head and she whipped around. Alex threw his hand to his mouth to hold back a laugh. "Um, excuss me? Do you enjoy hitting people in the head?" she asked. Alex chuckled a bit and let his hand drift to his side.
"Yeah, I guess I do," he said, a grin stretching across his broad face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Guess I was too distracted. I'm Alex, and I'm new here. You are...?"
Leeah blushed and smiled at his comment. "Nice to meet you, Alex. I'm Leeah."

A smile crept acros his face and he pulled his right hand out of his pocket to shake her hand. "Nice to meet you, Leeah. I see you like to shoot hoops. Wanna challenge me? See who can make the most?"
Leeah flashed a grin. She bounced the basketball between her legs and sprinted across the court, hearing his feet and the dribbling of another ball hammer across the floor after her. She looked over her shoulder and saw Alex gaining on her. She laughed and stopped to shoot the ball. It sailed through the air and swished through the hoop.

Leeah halted, catching the ball in her hands as it dropped down through the net. She tucked it under her arm, and studied Alex. "So I was wondering, what is your power? Well, talent."

Alex chuckled and swirled the ball on his fingertip. "You really want to see?" When Leeah nodded, he turned to face the hoop at the opposite end of the court, about 60 feet away. He gripped the basketball in his hand and stretched out his arm continuously until he could dunk the ball right into the basket. Then he reeled in his arm and turned back to Leeah. "That's just one thing," he said and a smile stretched across the side of his mouth.

"Are we done playing? We could do something else instead," he suggested. Leeah nodde, her mouth wide open. "Okay, I'll clean up." Half a second passed and he swiped the basketball from under her arm, returned both the balls, and came back to his position. The clock ticked the full second, and Leeah was left in the same position as before. She shook her head and pushed all of her fingers to her forehead, rubbing the skin.
"Wow, that's all I can say. Your powers are so...amazing. Everyones poweres here are amazing! Well, except mine...sometimes."
"Heh, you have to show me yours still," he said smoothly.
Leeah smirked. "That isn't a very good idea here. How about tomorrow we meet at the lake?"
Alex considered this. "Okay," he finally agreed. "I'll be there. It was nice meeting you."
"You too." Leeah turned to walk out of the door, but she kept peeking over her shoulder at him. She smiled once more, turned around and ran into the wall. She heard his laughing and she ran out of the gym to her dorm. Why was she always so embarrassing of herself?
