Waiting for that moment in time.

Leeah sat down on the swiveling black chair, and whipped a pencil out of the drawer on the side of the desk. She slipped a piece of printer paper in front of her, and began drawing. While she thought of Alex, her pencil lightly sketch a perfect heart. A flash of a smile curved up the side of her lips, but she removed it almost as soon as it appeared. This guy was new to her. She had never met him before, so she couldn't trust him just yet. Especially not in a relationship.

Jamie stepped inside the door, tears streaming down her face. She slammed the door as hard as possible, while carefully lowering Bailey from her position in mid air. She turned around, sinking to the floor in physical and emotional exaustion. Her mind however was going at full force. Right then she felt Leeah's presence. Jamie stood silently and went to her bed, trying not to disturb Leeah. Greaaaaat, stupid powers, Jamie thought as Leeah's thoughts crept into her head. At least someone had a good day. Jamie pulled herself under her covers as she heard every last thought of Leeah's, Jamie playing the stolen images and memories over and over in her head.

"Try harder!" he growled.
"I am!" Jamie pushed herself further. She had to do this, she needed to be able to control her powers. Little did she know, her powers were already out of her control. An agonized scream tore the silence. Her eyes flew open to see her "master" lying dead on the floor. "What have I done?", she whispered. A tear rolled down her cheek, "I will never harm anyone again!"

Jamie groaned as she read two thoughts contradicting eachother, and decided to chime in with her own two sense. "Yes, you do love him, no matter what you say to yourself...", she said, her voice hoarse. A slight smile slipped across her face as she thought of the two.

Leeah was whipped with rage as her face burned a deep red. Her hands flared with fire as she trudged over to Jamie. The flames licked up her whole arm, but she controled them enough to make sure they didn't touch anything that could catch fire. "You just don't understand do you!? Don't you think you could keep my thought out of your head for just once!? I am so fed up with you right now Jamie! If my tholughts are just randomly forced into your head, keep your damn feeling to yourself!" Tears burst through her eyes. She turned, sweeping up her yellow and grey striped purse and May before rampaging through the door.

May lickd her tears from her face, trying to cherr her up. Leeah couldn't help but laugh a little. Alex couldn't see her like this. She lifted up her sleeve and checked her watch. She had to meet Alex at the lake in about thirty minutes. She had plenty of time. Sliding into the bathroom, she ripped out a paper towel and wet it, dabbing it across her face. She set May on the floor, expecting her to run off. Instead, she sat down and looked up at Leeah. Leeah smiled widely. As soon as she finished up, and waited for her tear marks to disappear, she picked up May again and cuddled her in her arms.

Jamie sat there, speechless. Her eyes flitted back to their normal state as tears overflowed from them. She didn't mean to hurt Leeah, in fact she didn't even mean to read her thoughts. She felt as if a shard of ice was stabbed through her heart. Jamie almost doubled over from the pain. She lay there limp for several minutes. She curled herself into a tight ball, punching her heart with clenched fists. Tears flooded from her eyes. She felt the weight of the world on her shoulders. She really wished she was never born... she wished she never had been born so she couldn't hurt or harm anyone. She felt something pushing on her back, and rolled away from Bailey, who was only trying to comfort her. She didn't want to harm Bailey either... She shouldn't have taken that responsibility.

Leeah sighed and burried her face in May's fluffy coat. Leeah though for a moment. It would be much easier to carry May on something else....or in something else. Leeah brightened. She dug into her purse and pulled out a wad of cash. Slowing to a walk, she counted the money. One...two....three....she ended up stuffing $50 dollars back into the purse. She would stop at the mall on her way to the lake, and pick up a backpack. One big enough to carry May.
