I am Kitten4u, and I enjoy making avatars, signatures and stuff like that. So I thought I'd make a thread with some of my recent stuff.

I also do a lot of work with editing pictures. I can make them look unedited if I put enough effort into it. Here are some of my recent edits.
[Original|My Edit] This is the image I use for my character "Helen Chenda"
[Original|My Edit] This is an NPC I made. I was bored so I edited a picture to look like him because I could
[Original|My Edit] This is the image I use to represent Kamilia. One of the more drastic edits I've done. There are some errors, but I'm too lazy to fix them and you can't see most of them unless you look really hard.

I use Photoshop CS for pretty much everything I do. Occasionally I'll use Flash for stuff, but everything I posted here was done with nothing but Photoshop CS and a tablet.

Just remember getting a tablet won't automatically make you an awesome artist, it'll just make some of the work eaiser. Before you get one I'd actually suggest getting familiar with your program of choice, the elements of art and that kind of thing. Then once you understand those things and if you're still really into art then pick up a tablet and figure out how to use that.
My favorite mythical creature? The honest politician. A life cool.. where can I download one of those? Hurray for apathy!

These are some really beautiful works. I love how the backgrounds match the characters in the avatars. Also I love the dreamy, freeze frame kind of thing you've created with the colors and the poses of the characters....Eh..Kind of confusing, but your work just appeals to me; in a good way of course. :]
Keep on continuing, and maybe play around with other techniques.
