→ Almost thirty years ago, Bandon was destroyed in a human war, and then abandoned. As it is whenever a city is abandoned by its human caretakers, nature took over. After a few years, strays discovered this city was a safe haven and began to move in. Soon they were a powerful force, and formed three packs. Over the last twenty-five years the packs grew strong, and then disaster struck and the leader of the Rengar pack was struck down by disease. Hekmatyar, a strong-willed dog, took over, and before long the other two old leaders of Atero and Reffani pack turned up dead as well. New leaders took the throne, and Hekmatyar was quick to try and force his beliefs on them. Hekmatyar has targeted all dogs with coats containing a mixture of black and brown as unclean, and he has convinced the other leaders to do the same. Dogs with this coat color are now in danger, whether there are only a few of them or many. For now, these dogs and the dogs who disagree with the new policy in the three packs have formed Crane pack. While Hekmatyar wants to target loners as well as the dogs in Crane pack, the other two leaders are more hesitant, reluctant even to follow Hekmatyar’s strange new idea of discrimination.
